Dear Community
Would you be interrested if by January 2008 we would start to read theOutlander books together again?
If so, would a chapter a week be fine with you?
At the end of the week there would be a discussion post in the community talk with the others about the weekly part of the story
Opinions? Questions?

For Consideration
I'd love to do a re-read. The only concern I have about the "chapter a week" idea is that if we only read a chapter a week it's going to take YEARS to finish the books.Outlander - 41 chapters
Dragonfly in Amber - 49 chapters
Voyager - 63 chapters
Drums of Autumn - 71 chapters
The Fiery Cross - 111 chapters
A Breath of Snow and Ashes - 125 "chapters" (124 plus epilogues)
Which sums up to a total of 460 chapters and just shy of 9 years of reading. Even if you leave the initial book chapter sections alone but double up the last two books (she does have a tendency to make 1 or 2 page chapters in the later books) (41+49+63+71+55+63) you still end up with 342 chapters or about 6 1/2 years of reading. I don't know that I have 9 years worth of commitment in me.
Perhaps we should consider a number of pages per week or per every two weeks? Rounding up or down as necessary to get to the end of a chapter? I realize this can be problematic since not everyone has the same editions of the book but I'd suggest only splitting it this way but noting the chapters to be read during that time. I have the big paperbacks, here's my page counts.
Outlander - 627 pages
Dragonfly in Amber - 743 pages
Voyager - 870 pages
Drums of Autumn - 880 pages
The Fiery Cross - 979 pages
A Breath of Snow & Ashes - 980 pages
Total pages: 5089
Say we want to read through the entire series in a year, that's about 100 pages a week in my editions(97.8653 pages a week to be exact). Since I tend to read each book in one go over a long weekend I couldn't really say how fast I can read, but 100 pages in a week doesn't seem that bad.
Just a thought...

Re: For Consideration
Uh... thanks for pointing that outAs you may have already seen, there are a lot of people who don't think they can get more in, in a week
I guess we will have to start that way, and then see if it would be possible to make it more, because people see that they can do more

As for Annabella's sums in the time it takes .. woah! I'd never have thought of that ... I would agree to at least a few chapters a week is easy ... once you read a chapter, the books are so more'ish, even when you know what's coming because you've read it before, they make me struggle with insomnia, if I can ply it out of my hand and turn off the light, I lay there for awhile thinking on all I've just read .. I'd say we could do more, but I'm happy to go with the flow.

Anyway, I'd be very interested in a book discussion! I can't promise to keep up with all the reading, but having read Outlander a few times already, it would be no problem to jump into a discussion.

Maybe we can go by big events in the story, like claire frist meeting jamie, the friswt trip through the stones, the castle leoch and stuff like that
